I'm a South African artist living in Cape Town with my chef wife Adél Hughes (Della) and our dog Ecklonia Maxima. Max was named after the biggest kelp in the South Atlantic Ocean, the sea bamboo, or seebamboes in Afrikaans. Born in Pretoria in 1983, I grew up there and, after 34 years in the beautiful Highveld, came to live by the sea in December 2017. Adél and I lived in Betty's Bay, on a farm near Paternoster, and since 31 July 2023, in Cape Town. My life inspires my art.
